   Why not a German Shepherd Rescue or a Shelter? You’ll be spending several hundred, even a couple thousand to get one from a GOOD breeder. Most breeders are about as bad as pet stores.    Sorry for your loss. It is always so hard to lose them.
   Definitely do not buy a puppy from a pet store. You will most likely end up with problems that will cause you to have to put another dog down, but at an earlier age.
   If you want I can refer you to a reputable breeder near you. I know several all over the U.S. These breeders have very few genetic diseases passed in their lines, so you wouldn’t have to worry about problems at earlier ages like you would if you bought from a petstore. Feel free to e-mail me (address on my profile) if you would like me to refer you to a breeder. Also if you do let me know if you mind having a puppy shipped to you vs. picking it up yourself. This will tell me how close of a breeder to refer you to.

   Never buy from a petstore. Why? Because all petstore puppies are either supplied by puppymills or backyard breeders. Both are hell for teh puppies parents, so buying a puppy from a pet store is just like putting the money in the pocket of the puppymiller so they can go and cause more torture for the parents of the pup you bought. Search on http://www.youtube.com “Opera Puppy Mills” To see Operas show on puppymills.
   This site you can rescue a puppy or adult dog, you will be saving their life!

   DO NOT BUY FROM A PET STORE!
   no reputable breeder would ever sell to pet stores. those are puppy mill dogs. if you want to find a reputable breeder start with the akc. not every breeder listed is reputable though so you will have to do your own research, but it is a good place to start. http://www.akc.org

   Never get one from a petstore, you will only be supporting the puppy mill business cause no reputable breeder would ever sell their pups to pet stores.
   I really can’t find many breeders in maryland that seem reputable to me. But how about rescue.http://www.magsr.org/

   NEVER GET ONE FROM A PET STORE or breeders, some breeders are bad too.
   look for one in petfinder.com and your local animal shelter
