I am so sorry to hear about your friend. I have an elderly Min Pin that is having problems using his rear legs.
Oh yes, I do not have any idea about how this disease progresses. Sorry.
Anyway, I got one of those rear leg harnesses for my dog and it works quite well. I have been looking into getting him a doggie wheel chair or cart. I found several companies that make them, as well as instructions on how to make it yourself. There are a lot of even better things out there to help you and your dog. If you want to e-mail me about any of these things, please feel free to. I have done extensive research on ways to accommodate my dog. Take care.
I personally do not know anything about this disease and really the best person to talk to is your vet.
I do have an article for you though that talks about myelopathy. I just hope it is the same one you are talking about http://www.veterinarypartner.com/Content…
I’m so sorry to hear about your Beagle.
I do have a question though…
My Beagle was unstable on his rear legs a while back. It seemed like it hurt him to walk or stretch.
The vet wasn’t able to find anything wrong, is this a symptom?
